Taken yesterday at a millitary training zone next to the Syrian border.

Sounds strange, I know. It was something like a small tank show. Small but loud... the tanks shoot so loudly! I mean I knew that before but I didn't imagine it that way. And the shock wave was so massive...
It was fun.. [=

It's not until you see a Merkava at this angle that you realize just how low and narrow it's turret really is.

Even more amazing, despite the low profile of both the hull AND the turret, the gun can elevate to +20 degrees and depress to -10 degrees!

It's probably because the turret is long, low, and slim.

I know nearly nothing about weapons generally, but they tend to be very impressive and I admire their design.. [=
